Hey genius, the gas canister behind them in the second picture shows that this was in China proper. Rats are a delicacy in Guangzhou, southern China.

Please refrain from sharing your misinformation and xenophobia with others. There is enough intolerance and sensationalism in the world; more is not needed.

I like how you subtly changed "Asian" to "Caucasian", pure excellence. Did you go to Yale or something?

That message is being passed around via e-mail. Here's where those photos probably originated:

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ratcooking.html

As you can see, the photos are all about cooking rats. There is nothing in it that would suggest that these rats are being used in place of chicken to deceive people.

Arggghh. I just rejected a Yahoo mail posting in our Yahoo group that contained this rat/chicken photos. It is so annoying when people forward e-mails without bothering to verify its truthfulness. It's annoying because it seems so absurd that people can be that ignorant that they would belive everything they read in e-mails. (And this was a Yahoo group of university-educated people).

Got this via email from a member on the Asiatical side of the family; pretty sure it wasn't intended ironically. It was a sad day for the global community. On the other hand, it did conjure up amusing images of dead, denuded rats scurrying around the floor while 10 pinay in pearls, pumps, and aprons all cram themselves onto a chair, screaming and saucer-eyed, as a Chinese sorcerer leans on his staff in the doorway, pointing and laughing hysterically.

Nobody objects to the way America handles beef or chicken, but on closer investigation it's quite shocking. Maybe that's why the Colonel's secret recipe is kept a secret?

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong: I have heard that American's also eat snake, rabbit possum and gopher. If true, then why the phobia? Why perpetuate racism with falshoods?

We have a guy at work that even added to the story. He said it happened in New York. When a business next to this Chinese restaurant needed some work, and the workers had to go through the Chinese restaurant's basement to get to this other business's basement. They found this going on, and called the health department.
You can plainly see the writing on the drum behind the workers! This was not in America!
